In honor and in memory of Gloria Ribnick, former Director of Marketing and PR for the Alexander JFS, an eight-week paid internship for a college student has been established for someone studying either communications, journalism or marketing or has an interest in Jewish communal work. This opportunity is now open for applications. The internship will be a part-time position during the agreed upon period this summer and will be approximately 20 hours/week.
Gloria Ribnick directed marketing and public relations for Alexander JFS for nearly 25 years. She came to the agency at the age of 70 and guided the advancement of the agency from being the “best kept secret in town” to a well-known and well-respected human services agency for all of Houston. Her cutting-edge work included the transition from print PR to print and social media outlets. She wrote articles, newsletters, and produced 18 Alexander JFS annual meetings. Gloria was a beloved friend to all and especially enjoyed mentoring younger colleagues and staff members.
Alexander JFS is looking for a college intern who embodies the spirit, energy, and values of Gloria Ribnick. The candidate should be a self-starter, passionate about working within the human services non-profit world and have outstanding skills as a communicator and writer. Skills with Microsoft Office are an important qualification. This will be an onsite position. For all job duties and qualifications, please see the job posting.
