Joan and Stanford Alexander For the Good of Life Fund
Matching grant challenge to build an endowment for adults with disabilities.
Established in 2019, Joan and Stanford Alexander matched donations to this fund dollar for dollar through September 2021. Gifts in the amount of $36 to $1,000,000 have been made, building towards a multi-million fund that will sustain this nurturing employment program.

For Family Stability, Strength and Success
Provides tangible resources for individuals, families and seniors who are experiencing significant financial stress. Financial stability case managers evaluate client situations and work with the client to stabilize their situation and teach skills for maintaining that stability.

Established by Jeri and Marc Shapiro to honor the memory of Marc’s aunt, Della Shapiro Schaeffer, a valued social worker at Alexander Jewish Family Service for over 30 years. This fund provides tangible resources for individuals, families and seniors who are experiencing significant financial stress.

For Senior Adult Financial Aid
Established in 1992 by related families, it was one of the first funds to support Passover Assistance. As Case Management for Seniors continued to grow into a core service, the fund evolved into support for the agency’s commitment to help keep seniors independent as they age.

Alexander Jewish Family Service provides a variety of mental health programs to inform, educate and prepare students and adults in issues and situations related to mental health crisis or conditions. All of these services and programs help give access to vital healthcare for our clients.

On the agency’s 80th anniversary, this fund was started to encourage Alexander Jewish Family Service supporters to build an endowment for annual unrestricted funds. At the 100th anniversary, a new group of supporters increased this fund substantially.

Farfel-Stark Fund
For Professional Development
Established by Lois and George Stark, a former president of Alexander Jewish Family Service, this fund provides opportunities professional continuing education for clinical social workers. This fund allows he agency to provide high level trainings for CEU’s that are required for clinical professionals.
